In today’s Motivational Monday we are going to give you a new tool in your self-healing arsenal. One that will help you release negative feelings and thoughts that can be stressful and overwhelming and keep you from living at your highest potential.
Why can you be totally fine one moment and the next moment feel anxiety and drained of energy?
The reason is that each of us have an energy field around us that is super sensitive to the energies of your environment. Every human being is empathic by nature, just look at little babies and how they instantly react to the energy of the parents by laughing when the parents are happy and crying when they argue, or a parent is upset.
In truth, you are no less sensitive or empathic as that child. Your environment and the people in it impact your day much more than you think.
Did you know that when people discharge any form of negativity in a contained space that it can linger in that area for hours or days? And when you walk into that area, the negative energy can affect how you feel – even when there is nothing obvious in the room.
And when you are having relationship issues with a parent or a partner or a co-worker, every time you think of them, or them of you, it can be like a little electrical jolt is sent between you two energetically keeping your thoughts more in the past problem than the present moments potential for happiness.
Running your energy that way and taking on other people’s negativity and problems into your energy field over many months or years is draining, and can cause stress and illness.
These are just two of hundreds of ways you may be empathically picking up negativity in a world of people, crazy headlines and pain fear based emotional selling in the media.
The solution is to realize that just like you know you need to regularly eat healthy food to stay healthy, you also must give your energy body regular tune-ups during the day to combat the negative forces in the world around you.
TODAYS TIP:
Today’s energy tip is something you can do whenever you feel mentally or emotionally caught in negativity.
It has to do with pulling your attention back from your perceived problems and reconnecting with your heart chakra, that is by nature unconditionally loving and forgiving and can release the past and create a better future in seconds by bringing you more into the present moment.
At the Rhys Thomas Institute we call this Heart Tapping.
To start, bring your attention to the negative feelings that are taking over your body, or images taking over your thinking, or memories of events that trigger those feelings or pain.
Once you are aware of it, just gently start tapping on your sternum, in the center of your chest with your left hand. You don’t need to say anything to yourself at first, just tap to open your heart chakra and feel compassion for yourself and others, who can be affected by a world that can be such a challenge at times.
As you tap, take some deep breaths and visualize on each in breath you are breathing in light and on the out breath you are breathing out the old dark energies that keep stuck or that you may be absorbing from the environment.
Finally, repeat the simple mantra that you can say to yourself or to anyone you are in conflict with. “I love you, I respect you, god bless you.”
This process should only take a minute or two. As the heart chakra opens and you breathe in deeply, you will feel a sense of energy coming back and your stress disappearing.
Use this as often as you need. Your heart is the power you need to both love and protect yourself, it just needs a little waking up.
Gentle tapping on it will help you throughout your day to release negativity energy and liberate more love and creative ways to create a positive and fulfilling life.
